An Alabama native, Cory attended Auburn University where he met his wife, Nicole, whom he married in 2007. Cory holds a Master's Degree in Biblical Studies from Birmingham Theological Seminary. Cory spent six years working in the construction industry followed by four years working for a non-profit resource ministry.

For eight years Cory served PBC bi-vocationally as Pastor of Preaching and Vision while also working as a project manager for a local construction company. In his free time, Cory enjoys spending time with Nicole and their three children, playing just about any sport, and fishing when he can.
