April 16 & 17 will be a special time in the life of Philadelphia Baptist Church. We are excited to welcome Dr. Tom Nettles and Dr. Tom Schreiner as speakers for our Bible Conference. They will also participate in the Ordination and Installation of Dr. Jeff Robinson as our new pastor.
The answer is because God tells us that "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Dr. Tom NettlesDr. Nettles is widely regarded as one of the foremost Baptist historians in America. He came to Southern Seminary from the faculty of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School where he was Professor of Church History. He previously taught at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. Along with numerous journal articles and scholarly papers, Dr. Nettles is the author or editor of nine books. Among his books are By His Grace and For His Glory; Baptists and the Bible, the highly influential volume which he co-authored with L. Russ Bush; and Why I Am Baptist, co-edited with Russell D. Moore.
Dr. Tom SchreinerDr. Schreiner joined the Southern Seminary faculty in 1997 after serving 11 years on the faculty at Bethel Theological Seminary. He also taught New Testament at Azusa Pacific University. Dr. Schreiner, a Pauline scholar, is the author or editor of several books including, Romans, in the Baker Exegetical Commentary Series on the New Testament; Interpreting the Pauline Epistles; The Law and Its Fulfillment: A Pauline Theology of Law; The Race Set Before Us: A Biblical Theology of Perseverance and Assurance; Still Sovereign: Contemporary Perspectives of Election, Foreknowledge, and Grace, co-edited with Bruce A. Ware; Women in the Church: A Fresh Analysis of I Timothy 2:9-15; Paul, Apostle of God's Glory in Christ: A Pauline Theology, I and 2 Peter, Jude.

Dr. Jeff Robinson holds a BS degree in Journalism from The University of Georgia, a Master of Divinity, a Doctor of Philosophy, and a Ph.D. in Historical theology with an emphasis on Baptist history. Minor area: in Systematic Theology from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky, where he has been serving as teaching assistant to Russell D. Moor, dean of the School of Theology at Southern Seminary, and as guest instructor in church history at Southern as well as instructor of Christian worldview at Boyce College at Southern Seminary.
