A native of Blairsville, Ga., Dr. Jeff Robinson holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from The University of Georgia, a Master of Divinity in biblical and theological studies and a Ph.D. in historical theology with an emphasis on Baptist history from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky, where he was mentored and supervised by noted Baptist historian Tom Nettles.
At Southern Seminary, he also served as public relations officer for 10 years under R. Albert Mohler Jr. and also served as adjunct professor of church history at Boyce College. Jeff also spent 11 years as an editor and writer with The Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood in Louisville. Prior to entering ministry, he spent nearly 20 years as a newspaper journalist in Georgia, North Carolina and Kentucky, covering everything from politics to Major League Baseball and SEC football.
Jeff and his wife Lisa have been married for 18 years and have four children: Jeffrey, 10, Hannah, 8, Lydia, 6, and Jacob, 5. A prolific writer, Jeff is the author of numerous articles and book chapters on theology, culture, gender issues, fatherhood/parenting, baseball history and church history and is co-author with Michael Haykin of the upcoming book The Great Commission Vision of John Calvin from Crossway. He is a contributing writer and book reviewer for the Gospel Coalition and regularly writes for the online church history journal, Credo. He serves as senior fellow for the Andrew Fuller Center for Baptist History and Tradition at Southern Seminary and continues to teach a journalism class each year at his alma mater. He also teaches history at the Excelsior Homeschool Co-op.
Jeff is a passionate and lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Georgia Bulldogs and can often be found in the spring and summer with his boys at a baseball field or ballpark somewhere in America, participating in or following the National Pastime.
Dr. Wallen is a retired Southern Baptist Pastor, but has been working with our Senior citizens for the past ten years. He is the founder and president of Bible Study Foundation which has been ministering in Ukraine for the past thirteen years and assisting young pastors here in the USA. He is author of many articles, Bible studies, and one published book, “My Life, My Soul, My All” which is a study on Discipleship. He has served on many committees, boards and agencies within the Southern Baptist Convention.
Gus, as he is affectionately known, has been involved with the Student ministry at PBC since 2001. Gus leads Youth Bible studies which are theologically oriented and Christ centered.
Sharon joined the PBC staff in June of 2007. Before joining the staff, she spent over 15 years in the field of Human Resources management, training and insurance working for both larger and smaller companies. She is married, has two children and serves at the Greater New Antioch Baptist Church.
